Let’s Take a Coffee Break

This week’s blog was co-created and co-written by Zilis™ Director of Scientific Research and Development, Dr. Marielle Weintraub, and our Director of Business Development, Amanda Green, after a discussion about their love for coffee concoctions led to an all-out search for new and innovative coffee recipes.

We had a blast announcing our newest product UltraCafé Happy Coffee, a premium 100% Colombian Arabica instant coffee with CBC, during SpringFest 2022. From the start of product development, the headquarters were abuzz discussing all the coffee trends that had been recently taking over TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other social media channels. We began to wonder how our new UltraCafe Happy Coffee would taste, not to mention how fun it would be, to try our new product in these different forms. After scouring the internet for recipes, these are the ones that topped our list!

Happy Whipped Coffee

Whipped coffees, which is what they call it on TikTok, have been incredibly popular in South Korea (Dalonga coffee), India (Beaten coffee), and Greece (Frappe coffee) and are so fun to make, and beautiful to look at (especially when served in a translucent glass coffee mug).

Ingredients for Happy Whipped Coffee

  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 sticks packets of UltraCafe Happy Coffee
  • Milk, to serve
  • Ice, to serve

Directions for Happy Whipped Coffee

To make whipped coffee, whip UltraCafé Happy Coffee, granulated sugar, and hot water (either by hand or with a mixer/frother). The mixture will go from a dark liquid to very thick and creamy. Once this change has occurred, spoon the mixture over the milk of your choice and enjoy either on the rocks (over ice) or straight up (no ice)!

Nutella® Iced Happy Coffee

Nutella Iced Happy Coffee is a delicious beverage where mood-elevating Happy Coffee is mixed with Nutella (or other delicious chocolate and hazelnut spreads). This decadent coffee is very easy to make and only takes 5 minutes using six ingredients and your blender.

Ingredients for Nutella® Iced Happy Coffee

  • 2 stick packets of UltraCafé Happy Coffee
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of Nutella® (or other chocolate hazelnut spread)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • Ice cubes (3-4)

Directions for Nutella® Happy Iced Coffee

Add UltraCafé Happy Coffee, whole milk, Nutella, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and ice cubes into the blender. Blend well and slowly add additional ice cubes to make your beverage even frothier! Then pour the coffee over ice and enjoy.

Who doesn’t love a great latte? Well, when it came to the lattes, we had a tie for our favorite recipe!

Latte Option #1:

Happy Frothy Vanilla Latte

Ingredients for Happy Frothy Vanilla Latte

  • 1 stick packet of UltraCafé Happy Coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar-free vanilla syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of Cool Whip® (or other whip cream topping)
  • 6-8 ounces of hot water

Directions for Happy Frothy Vanilla Latte

Add UltraCafé Happy Coffee, water, and vanilla syrup to your favorite coffee mug and stir well. Then add your whipped cream to the mug. Using a handheld milk frother, whisk your coffee for 10-15 seconds. Optional: Pour the latte over a cup of ice and enjoy cold.

This creamy latte will have you feeling like you’re floating on cloud nine!

Latte Option #2:

Happy Sweet Vanilla Mocha Latte

This recipe is a bit more advanced. You’ll simply melt chocolate chips and bring several ingredients to a boil before adding UltraCafé Happy Coffee. Trust us, it’s worth it!

Ingredients for Happy Sweet Vanilla Mocha Latte

  • 2 stick packets of UltraCafé Happy Coffee
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup milk (your choice)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup coffee creamer (your choice of flavor)

Directions for Happy Sweet Vanilla Mocha Latte

Pour 2 sticks of UltraCafé Happy Coffee into your favorite cup and set aside until the rest of the ingredients are ready to be added. Next, mix the rest of the ingredients (chocolate chips, milk, vanilla extract, and your coffee creamer flavor of choice) in a pan. Bring the pan ingredients to a boil, mixing constantly, until the chocolate has fully melted (be careful to not burn the chocolate chips). Once completely melted/combined, pour the contents of the pan into your cup with the UltraCafé Happy Coffee, stir and enjoy!
